Kang is coming!
So, I watched the first trailer for Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania, and you would’ve never guessed, but I have some thoughts. If you have not watched the trailer, you should before reading further, because there will be some spoilers! How could there be spoilers from just a trailer? Because like the watcher I am Omniscient and I know all!
So, my friend Kyle (shout out Kyle) was the first person I knew who watched the trailer. He said to me “it’s mid.” Mid? I almost chuckled. Mid is not the correct word to describe this trailer. For those of you who don’t know “mid” means something that is average or mediocre, not good or bad. It is meant as somewhat of an insult though since you wouldn’t want to be called mid. So, Kyle says the trailer is mid and here is where he is wrong. This is no She Hulk (I have not gotten around to watching it I am merely making assumptions off of clips from shitty scenes I’ve seen online. Like this one.)
I did hear the ending was good though (SPOILERS: her and DareDevil get freaky deaky and hulk has a son with a fucked-up haircut.)
Hopefully this means we get a better hulk movie than that 2008 abomination (HA, get it?) But let’s get back to the topic at hand, Kang busting everyone’s ass (pause) for the foreseeable future. They did not show any of that in the trailer, maybe that is why Kyle thought it was mid. But this is Marvel we’re talking about, not DC. I know everything that happens in the Black Adam and I didn’t even see the movie yet, just the trailers. Marvel never gives anything away in their trailers, let alone their first trailers. There’s going to be at least two more before it releases in February so I’m sure we’ll see some more going on, but I doubt we’ll get too much insight on Kang. I will say in this trailer Kang looks pretty comic book accurate and also, I might add he looks fucking awesome. There’s something very ominous about him in just the few seconds we see him and I LOVE IT. He’s going to be the big villain for the next phase, I don’t want to know anything other than the bare minimum needed before I walk into the theater. We didn’t even see Thanos in an actual scene until Guardians of the Galaxy. For the record I don’t think Kang will top Thanos as the MCU’s best villain, but I do think he’s here to fuck shit up biggggg time. So, let’s get into some predictions, shall we?
Hope’s (The Wasp) mother freaks out when Scott’s (Ant-Man) daughter Cassie creates a signal for the Quantum Realm. After freaking out about getting them to shut it off, she says “There is something I haven’t told you.” What could this mean? My brother thinks it can be 1 of 2 things;
- She somehow became a variant of Kang when she was trapped in the Quantum Realm and she knows the damage that’s going to come.
- She fucked Kang and had one of his babies. She then left it somewhere in the Quantum Realm since Kang was too dangerous.
While these are “good” guesses I do not believe either of these will come to fruition. Here is what I hope happens; You may not like to hear it but I want to see Ant Man die. If Kang is going to be as big and bad as they say he, is he is going to have to do some serious damage. It’s going to start in this movie. He’s going to make Scott an offer and Scott is going to refuse. But in order to save his family he is going to sacrifice himself and Kang will claim his first major victim from the MCU. In Scott’s sacrifice he will buy his family enough time to escape the Quantum realm, get back to earth, and warn the other heroes of the imminent threat that is looming in the microscopic universe below them. This will then set up the next Avengers movie, Avengers The Kang Dynasty (kind of how Heimdall sent the Hulk to earth in Infinity War to warn the heroes of Thanos’ army.) BOOM! Did I call it or did I fucking call it?!? When you watch the movie in a few months think back to this blog and remember, Buttah was right. You would think I left the fridge open the way I’m spoiling everything!
