Yesterday we tackled one of the most rigorist debates of all time, Real Trees v. Fake Trees. (Side not my real tree is now not taking water real problem.) ((Second side note, I bought a mini fake tree for my room to boost Christmas spirit. Those things shed too! So, you have to clean them up too. So that argument against real trees is completely Erroneous!) But we already came to the conclusion on the right decision there, so let’s let bygones be bygones. However, while we’re on the topic of Christmas trees, there is another great debate that needs to be settled. I think you all know what I’m referring to here. What lights go on your Christmas tree? Multi Colored, or White? Two Icons at war forever, and I’m here to set the record straight!
Multi-Colored Lights
What are you 5? Should I get the little baby their choo choo train and dinosaur toys to play with? Did mommy tuck you into bed last night? Grow up! Yes, I once too used to love multi color lights on my Christmas tree, but then I learned how to tie my shoes. Listen, I’m a kid at heart, I like to have fun, I’ve been called immature more times than not. But at some point, you just have to leave those multi colored lights in the box. Add some class and elegance to your life. It will be okay, I promise. (Don’t even think of bringing up Rockefeller Center. You do not have an 80 foot tree in your home. That argument is invalid.)
White Lights
What are you 95? BORINGGGGGGGGGG! Not everything has to be so bland. Add some light to your life! Listen, if you do all white lights you seem like a real by the book’s person to me. Every time you go to a restaurant you always get the same food. Switch it up a little bit. Have some fun. Put some pizazz in your life man! Not everything has to be so black and white (ha get it?) Trust me you are not as classy as you think you are with all white lights. Let loose. Loosen the reigns. No need to be so high strung. The Holidays are supposed to be a fun time, full of joy and wonder! Mix It up a little. It will be okay, I promise.
A MIX OF BOTH!
Now you may be confused on how multi colored and all white can both be wrong, but the answer is simple. To get the best-looking tree you need to have a mix of both! “But isn’t a mix of both just multi colored?” NO! It’s not. Here’s what I mean by a mix of both. You do one set of white lights, and then you pick a solid color and do one set of those. Our tree is white and red! The true colors of Christmas, just like Santa! You see when I was younger my brothers and I wanted multi colored lights, while my mom wanted all white. It was a constant battle, that had no end in sight. Some people were calling it the great war! So, I, yes me, came up with the brilliant idea to combine the two. (My mom says it was her idea, she is wrong.)
The tree has never looked better, and we have never gone back. A small price to pay for salvation. If everyone around the world decorated their tree this way, we would all know peace. So do yourself a favor, better yet do me a favor. Ditch the bland white lights, get rid of the kiddy multi colored lights, and combine the two. Otherwise, your tree will always be inferior to the likes of mine. Santa is always watching, so it is a competition. Just a reminder from your friendly neighborhood St. Nick.
