It’s a new season, but is it the same old Knicks? I am here to tell you I am booking it right now. These are not the same old Knicks. I will even go as far to say after a game one loss, the New York Knicks will make the playoffs! How could I say something so controversial yet so brave? Some people may say it’s crazy to call it this early, but if you know me, you know I’ve never been one to overreact. Will this season be incredibly frustrating? Absolutely, that was proven in game one. There is a lot of things that need to be worked on, but I’ve got a feeling there’s something different about this team. I just can’t put my finger on it…
That’s right. Look at that new facial hair. Absolutely ravishing! We are absolutely going places baby! But the beard is not the only thing that’s going to take us to the promised land this year. Firstly Mitchell Robinson and all of his three point summer work out videos need to actually be on the floor. Not committing 5 fouls in 13 minutes of play. Secondly where is this man?!?

Now, it has only been one game, and I am the biggest Rowan Barret Jr. supporter there is, even when he tried to call himself the Maple Mamba. But we cannot have a repeat of last year. We can’t have the slow start hot finish again. We need RJ to play at an all-star level the entire year, or else we will be a lottery team once again, doomed for a shitty lottery pick which has been the case since David Stern froze the envelope back in 1985! Even as an RJ supporter I had seen enough in game one when he bricked a left-hand layup off the glass in overtime back on Wednesday night.
Even though he shot 3/18 I am calling it now, RJ will have a bounce back game in the garden tonight. The Mecca will be rocking, and if I had any money left in my Caesar’s account, I would sprinkle it across his player props because he will lead us to the promised land, he is the future! Guess why I have no money in my Caesar’s account? Here’s a hint: I bet the Knicks to win against the Grizzlies. In case you couldn’t tell, they did not. But RJ’s struggles were not the only reason we lost the game.
Personally, the game was lost when Derrick Rose took an “analytically friendly” 3 point shot on a fast break after a turnover and missed it! Now to be honest I can’t even remember if that shot was in the 4th quarter or overtime, so it definitely did not lose us the game. But it was still a real “dickhead shot.” Rose only played 12 minutes but he wasn’t great. His best feat was hitting Steven Adams in the head to try and keep him out of the game. But Aquaman is known as the strongest man in the NBA so it did not do much.
Aside from Rose’s dickhead shot, the refs missed a FOUL and GOAL TEND on the same play!
Of course it would’ve been on one of the NBA’s new golden boys Ja Morant so they had to look past it. But if any Knicks player put a hand on Ja it was a foul. This is part of the infuriating part of the season I discussed earlier. Every NBA page on twitter was sucking off Morant after the game of course, so I had to put them in their place and remind everyone that he is in fact
NOT HIM.
It even led to a civil debate with a keyboard warrior defending him, who I then put in a body bag!

NOT HIM I SAY! NOT HIM!
Aside from that nonsense, I thought Brunson played well, even though in overtime he took a 3 when we were down and all he had to do was drive to the hoop! He would’ve got a lay-up! Randle played like he needs a new contract again which is always great to see. That boy was making things happen for our team and DAMMIT I LOVE TO SEE THAT! Y’all writing him off well he didn’t write back, just like Geno!
And I don’t think this is an overreaction, but I think we all know who is winning the NBA 2022-2023 MVP award. And his name is CAM REDDISH! That man was fryinggggggggg Memphis the other night. From behind the arc, getting the rack, and even dunking all over Memphis on the fast break. Cam was talkin’ that shit after the 3 pointer to tie the game and so was I. Even right now I’ve got goosebumps, WOW!
All in all this brings me back to my main point. Beard Thibs. Last year he had no beard and didn’t play Cam, this year he has a beard and plays Cam. That play he ran for Cam was so fire. The beard is clearly giving him extra intelligence. The only thing left now is to get Obi Toppin more minutes. Because if we’re being honest we all know there aint no stoppin Obi Toppin. Knicks win big tonight, they shut down that bum Jaylen Ivey (he’s not a bum I really wanted him on the Knicks) and get back on track in the Mecca! 82-1? Some people are saying…
