I remember almost writing a blog titled “Christmas Came Early Mets Fans” back when the Correa news originally broke. I was up at 3:30am for whatever reason when the rumors started to swirl. Oh, the Joy! A little early Christmas present. Santa Clause was looking out for us Mets fans! But alas, it was too good to be true. Why does it feel like it’s always us Mets fans that go through this resounding pain constantly. There’s no way the pain in Carlos Correa’s leg hurts more than the pain in our hearts, right Mets fans? Or maybe it does. Maybe Uncle Stevey and the front office are actually doing the right thing. Maybe instead of Christmas coming early for Mets fans, it actually came late…

WE DON’T NEED THAT CHEATER!
Let’s not forget, this guy Carlos does not have the best rep around the league right now! He was one of the founding fathers or cheating on that Houston Astros team. That same Houston Astros team that let him walk because they had a better, younger shortstop along the way. That same Houston Astros team that just won the World Series, without him! Is this guy even good when he’s not cheating? I’m not so sure. Doesn’t really seem like a staple piece to me if you’re willing to let him go and win the World Series without him. GOOD RIDDANCE! Let’s also not forget everyone was jumping for joy when Joe Kelly did this to him:
WAS HIS SEASON WITH THE TWINS THAT GOOD?

This is the guy we were going to give $300 million dollars to?

Look at the statistics; guy was down in almost every offensive category there is. If we follow the trends, he is only going to get worse. Also have we forgotten about that leg injury? No wonder this guy is trying to move from shortstop to third base, he can’t even run anymore! You know what they say. 28 is the new 99. We really dodge a bullet here. We can’t afford to spend big money on free agents who are trending in the wrong direction. Not signing Carlos Correa is the Christmas miracle we didn’t know we needed Mets fans!
HOW BAD IS THE LEG REALLY?
This is how I imagine every day for Carlos Correa being. Nothing but pain and hurt coming from that leg of his. With the plates in his leg, he will also hold up the team when they are flying. We don’t need any unnecessary delays when we’re on the move. But seriously, The Giants through hundreds of millions of dollars at everyone and anyone this free agency. They ended up with none of their first choices, and still pulled their offer on Correa. Steve Cohen is a multi-billionaire willing to put his big fuckin balls on the table and sign anyone to make his team better, and HE passed on Correa because of his leg. Something has got to be off; I applaud the Mets for staying away.
UNCLE STEVEY’S REVENGE
If history repeats itself, and history always repeats itself, then the MLB is in for another rude awakening. “Oh Steven Matz, your agent wants to be a fucking dickhead? I’ll sign Max Scherzer and tell you to fuck off!” “Oh, Jacob DeGrom you don’t want to play in NY anymore? I’ll sign the top prospect from Japan and Justin Verlander and tell you to fuck off!” (That’s my best Uncle Stevey impression.) You know what they say, third times the charm. Expect a ton of trades and signings, nobody is off the board! WE WILL BE OKAY METS FANS!
CARLOSE CORREA
Now, if the Twins physical fails, and Carlos resigns with the Mets will I be extremely happy? Absolutely. Do I wish the deal would’ve just got done from the jump? 100% Will I take back every word I said in this blog if Correa somehow stays? You know it baby! But sometimes that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. Of course, I wanted him on the Mets. Worrying about future injuries is a bold strategy with what he could’ve added to the lineup. I am just hoping they were right. I put my faith into this organization to clean up this New York Mess (ha!)
We won 101 games without him last year; we won zero games while he was on the team for a brief stint this year. This means if we win one (1) game without him this season, letting him walk will be a success story. I LIKE THOSE ODDS BABY! You can’t spell LOSE without CarLOS CorrEa! We don’t need him Mets fans! We never did! WE WILL BE OKAY!
