March Madness is coming to a close for the 2023 year, and it has been nothing short of chaotic to say the least. The first time a Final Four has never had a 1 seed. The first time an Elite Eight has never had a 1 seed! Madness! And while this tournament has been memorable as whole for how chaotic it has been, I do not feel there has been any true memorable players. No player has taken the tournament, or country by storm. While we may look back and say “remember when that team went all the way?” We will not be saying “remember when so and so played absolutely bananas and took over the tournament?” The only player that would come close to that this year, would probably be Kansas State’s Markquis Nowell. (In case you don’t know who I’m talking about.)
Now I tweeted that because I bet on Michigan State and he costed me a boat load of money ($5.) Even though he had a great tournament, I don’t think he had the year that some of these players I will be choosing to add to my March Madness team have had. And the three players I am choosing, I would take over anyone from this year’s tournament in a heartbeat. Very easily too I might add.
PICK ONE: KEMBA WALKER
I cannot stress this enough, the easiest pick from the board. It is not close. I don’t care about his size whatsoever. I would literally take Kemba any day of the week for this moment alone;
This will go down in history. The shot is 12 years old and if you bring it up every single person still knows what you are talking about. He was given the name “Cardiac Kemba” for his performance down the stretch of the season. He led a 19 seeded UConn to win the Big East tournament, which got them into the NCAA tournament, and he led UConn to win the whole thing there too. Unreal. I’m not checking his stats but I’m pretty sure he averaged close to 30 points in the NCAA tournament that year. Multiple game winners, elite scoring, elite leader, give me Kemba over everyone in a heartbeat.
PICK TWO: JIMMER FREDETTE
Listen, I know Jimmer didn’t work out in the league, but this man set the tournament on fire. Watching him pull up from 35+ feet as a kid was fucking awesome. You’re telling me my backcourt is Kemba and Jimmer Fredette. That is literally the best team in the NCAA all year long. I know Jimmer put the fear of God in other teams and coaches too. Jimmer took BYU on a run (I think…) and I’d gladly have him take my team on a run as well. The man was casually having 40- and 50-point games. Nobody is doing that right now. Give me Jimmer easy.
Not to mention that boy Jimmer from NY, so you know he a real hooper.

PLAYER THREE…
Now, I am going to bend the rules a little bit. Because the third player that should be chosen to be added to the team is not on the list. If I wanted to take a big man from the list, I might take Tyler Hansbrough. Really dominant college player of course. But… I think there is someone better to pair with my two all-conference point guards…

Give me ZIONNNNN WILLIAMSON! With ease. With fucking ease. This man was the most electric college basketball player we have had in years. He took the entire season by storm and was a walking highlight reel. The man was so explosive he broke through a shoe!
Every single day we had a new Zion highlight or segment on ESPN and it was rightfully so. He was absolutely electric.
The only thing I have against him was that he went to bumass Duke (Fuck Duke!) But he still put on the season of a lifetime. Honestly if you don’t like this pick, give me someone who gave us a more electrifying season in the past few years. Go ahead, comment below and tell me. (You won’t be able to because his season was that good.) And if he’s paired with two guards like Kemba and Jimmer. Oh my God. The pick and roll, the pick and pop, the alleys! The team would go undefeated and win the championship. I’m serious. Would’ve been the greatest college team of all time. It would’ve been like Thanos and the Avengers teaming up together. Only the greatest GM could set that up, which is why I had to step in.
