The quiet before the storm. Can you feel it Knicks fans? Is the energy starting to rise in you just like me? (Not talking about an erection.) ((You know what maybe I am talking about an erection. An erection for NEW YORK KNICK PLAYOFF BASKETBALL BABY!!!)) I am fucking ready. The first series took years off my life, it was an emotional rollercoaster that we’ll get into at a later date. But God am I ready to get back on the ride.
One of the main reasons of this blog is just to let everyone know, I hate the pacers. I fucking cant stand this bitch ass team, maybe even more than the 76ers (it’s still fuck the 76ers though.) I hate Tyrese Haliburton, I hate his stupid face, I hate different voices, I hate that he was an all-star starter over Brunson, I hate that he made Team USA over Brunson (actual insanity by the way when you look at the stats.) But you don’t even need to look at the stats, if you are a true ball watcher, then you know Wally Szczerbiak was right.
Now, I went to the Knicks vs Pacers game at the Garden on 2/13/24 this year, and guess what? Halliburton cooked us. Did that piss me the fuck off? Absolutely. Do I still think he is super overrated? Absolutely. Is that the only reason why I want to beat this fucking bitch ass team so badly? Nope. Not one bit. There’s too much history here.
Yes, we all know Reggie Miller scored 8 points in 9 seconds. Yes we know he made the choke gesture because the Knicks choked the game away. But did you know that the Knicks won this series? Can you believe that? The Knicks won this series and all anyone ever talks about is Reggie Miller highlights. Miss me with that bullshit.
Fuck man. Even looking up that highlight still pisses me the fuck off. We were a Roy Hibbert fingertip away from going to the eastern conference finals and playing the heat. And in case you forgot, we swept the heat in the regular season that year (I fact checked myself we actually went 3-1 against them in the regular season, still a winning record though.) And obviously that means we would have beaten them easily in the eastern conference finals and competed for the championship. It still makes me sick to my stomach. I fucking hate this team.
This was the only good thing to come out of that series. I still remember watching this live and absolutely exploding in my apartment. Shumpert running down the lane like Moses parting the red sea to jump what felt like out of the garden to dunk the ball from space. How the fuck did we lose that series man fuck.
But I am here to tell you it does not matter that we lost that series 11 years ago. It does not matter that Reggie Miller scored 8 points in 9 seconds, and it does not matter that Halliburton cooked us earlier this season. The Knicks are going to win this series. They are going to fucking dominate the Pacers and the Messiah of the Meca (you know who I am referring to.)
He is going to lead us past these bums. He is our basketball Jesus and I will follow him down any path, on any roller coaster ride, because I believe in him and this team! I can feel it in my Hart! So sit back, grab a plate of spaghetti with some Big Ragu on top of it, and enjoy the ride. This one is going to be for all the OG’s, and it is going to be Precious! Knicks in 5 baby! Deuce(s).
