Is there anything more stupid than Daylights Savings? The only thing I can think of that might give it a run for its money is the last season of Game of Thrones (I just rewatched it with my girlfriend since she had never seen the show and wow is it just as infuriating the second time around. I mean Bran the Broken, are you fucking kidding me?!? But we’ll get into that in another blog.) But in all seriousness Daylights saving time is blasphemous. Nobody in the world even uses it besides us in the United States (I’m not fact checking this.) Not even all 50 states use it anymore! (I know this is true, but could not tell you a single state besides Arizona.) And for the record I thought we finally did something right for once and abolished it earlier this year. Apparently, I’m not alone.
Doing a little bit of research (looking under the tweet I just included and seeing somebody posted a picture of wording that I assume is from an article, that *seems* to be true) it looks like daylights savings time will be permanent gone this time next year.

Good! It’s about time we abolished this stupid process that we created, that’s a part of another construct that we created. That’s right everyone! Time does not exist! Humans made it up. So how can we add on to something or take away from something that doesn’t even exist?!?

The Chocolate Bar Scenario
You want to know easiest way to explain how dumb Daylights Savings Time is? Let me put it into perspective for you; Let’s say you have a Hershey’s Chocolate Bar. You break off the bottom row of the chocolate bar, and you stick it above the top row. Did the amount of chocolate change? (You don’t have to overcomplicate this you know the answer.) If you’re still pondering, the answer to the question is no. It is the same amount of chocolate. Moving a piece from the bottom to the top does not change anything. Are you starting to catch my drift?

That’s right, if it’s the same amount of chocolate after moving it, then it’s the same amount of time too! There’s no such thing as “falling back” and gaining an hour, or “springing ahead” and losing an hour (I’m not fact checking which is which but I’m pretty sure I said that right.) Thinking about this right now is actually hilarious. In what world does it make sense that we could just turn our clocks back and gain more time in the day? (In our world I guess.)

It’s For Farming?
And before I get attacked by “it’s for the farmers, so they can have more time with daylight.” Say that out loud to yourself again and truly think about it. (If I remember anything from grade school which is not much I’m pretty sure daylights savings was about farmers but who am I to fact check anything before writing it.) Now if you actually believe it’s about farmers, why does nobody in the world participate in it? There are farmers everywhere, why are our farmers the only farmers who need daylights savings time?

I’d bet exactly $1 (one) dollar that we have the technology that farmers don’t need to turn clocks any which way anymore to get the most out of their day. We for sure have some type of technology that does it for them.
I’m writing this blog right now close to 12:00am (midnight) and it has been dark now for over 7 hours. That fucking sucks. Go to work dark, come home dark. (Who’s that knocking at the door? Ah seasonal depression good to see you again.) But it has nothing to do with turning the clocks back. If it gets dark earlier all over the world then that’s just what happens around this time every year. Time has nothing to do with it! So Buttah what is the reason?
THE TRUTH!
From exactly 1 (one) google search, (look at me checking for facts who have I become?) It is all based off the earth’s axis. In the summer months the earth tilts towards the sun which gives us longer days. In the winter the earth tilts away from the Sun so you guessed it, shorter days. Looks like the clocks we made had nothing to do with it, it is all a sham! A wise man once said this and he was right! If I remember correctly, he even compared it to a chocolate bar to help others understand better. What a gentleman!

It’s time to turn the clocks on daylights savings time. I can’t wait for next year so we can finally move away from this sham. I hope we don’t ever fall back into doing Daylights Savings once we finally spring ahead. (That was almost too easy.)
