This year has been a battle. I am leading the war on Christmas Spirit, because we certainly need a lot more of it. There’s one week left until Christmas, and the fight rages on. If you are still feeling low on Christmas spirit, then it is time for me to call in one of the big guns. It’s time to help Santa’s sleigh fly! It’s time to be jolly, festive, and joyful! It’s time to save Christmas! But where do we start? We start with a Christmas Miracle.
Everyone who needs a boost in Christmas spirit should watch THE ORIGINAL Miracle on 34th Street. That’s right, I’m talking about the black and white galore. It took me 25 long years to finally watch this movie, and it is a masterpiece. I am seriously going to have to alter my Christmas movie ranking after this, because this movie truly feels like the embodiment of what Christmas is all about. What is Christmas all about? SPREADING JOY, KINDNESS, HAPPINESS, GOODNESS, AND LOVE! Everyone is so quick to look to receive, but it’s the season of GIVING! Help
KRIS KRINGLE
From the minute we see Kris Kringle come on the scene all he is looking to do is help people with their Christmas spirit. He tries to tell the store clerk he has the reindeer int the wrong order. He subs in for the drunk Santa and is the best Santa Clause the Thanksgiving Parade has ever seen. He then even becomes Santa Clause at Macy’s and helps parents find the toys their kids want, even if it’s not at Macy’s. He embodied the spirit of Christmas and giving so much he actually got the giant corporation Macy’s, to get on board helping their competitors make money and sell toys if they didn’t have them in stock. WHAT? That’s unheard of. That doesn’t happen in today’s day and age.
HE IS SANTA!
This man believed he is Santa Clause, and guess what? I, a 25-year-old man believe he is Santa Clause too. All the kids in NYC believed he was Santa. The line of children was out the door to see him as Santa and the kids genuinely felt they would have a good Christmas after speaking with him. He had that magic in him, and he genuinely cared!
He cared so much and tried to help so much it ended up getting him in trouble! This man had a court case where he needed to prove he was Santa! And it was not only the kids in NYC who thought he was Santa, kids all around the world wrote letters to HIM! Their letters were address to him as Santa. There were truckloads of them! That is absolutely magical! The judge had no choice but to rule that he was Santa, because he is! Some would say it’s a true MIRACLE!
THE TRUE MIRACLE
Now, it was certainly a miracle that the judged ruled he was Santa Clause. It was also a miracle that this man was able to get them a house. I genuinely have no idea how he did that, but like I said, this man is Santa and he is magical. Everyone may believe that’s the true miracle of the movie, and while its absolutely incredible (I am still speechless) I don’t believe it’s the true miracle on 34th street.
This man showed a little girl and her mother that it was okay to believe! A 5-year-old little girl had such a pessimistic look on the world before meeting Kris Kringle. He showed her to use her imagination! He showed her it was okay to have fun. He showed her it was okay to believe in something she couldn’t understand. He showed her true magic. Kringle showed a grown woman who had been through hard times that it was okay to put her trust in others again. He showed her it was okay to be tough while still allowing others to love her for who she is. He showed her that it was okay to believe too, and that she didn’t have to always expect the worst in people. This to me is the true miracle of the movie.
Santa was able to give some of his magic to others. He spread his Christmas spirit to people, families, and even corporations. Kringle got people to slow down in a fast-paced environment. Instead of being focused on getting everything for themselves, he showed people how to help one another. He showed people the true spirit of Christmas is all about giving. Giving gifts, giving time, giving compliments, giving joy, giving love. He showed everyone how far a little kindness could go, and I think everyone can learn a lesson from that. It’s okay to slow down every once in a while, and be grateful for what you have, rather than be focused on what you want. You too can be like Kris Kringle and bring joy to others this holiday season. This is why everyone should watch A Miracle on 34th Street.
