Christmas Movies: Just Missed the Cut!

     Now there are so many Christmas movies out there, not everyone can make the top 5. Unlike the rest of the world, we don’t give out pity participation trophies on this side. There is no reason to celebrate mediocrity. If you have a movie that just missed the cut in your top 5 list you need to remember that your list is wrong because this is the only correct list out there. Here are the few that just missed the cut but are still fantastic Christmas movies;

THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES

     The first Christmas Chronicles movie is fantastic, the second one is not. Everything about this modern spin off of Santa Clause films is awesome. The dope technology Santa uses, the different look and style of the elves, how Santa is able to use his magic and how fast he can really move is awesome. Not to mention Kurt Russell is such a cool Santa and I would love to look exactly like how he looked in this movie when I’m 60. The best scene in the movie is when Santa gets arrested and performs in the jail, talk about an electric factory. And its always a plus when Winston from New Girl shows up in the film.

JINGLE ALL THE WAY

     Some may say this is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best role. I feel like I don’t get to see this Christmas movie on tv a lot which is a true shame. It’s one of the better ones and deserves some screen time. From everything going wrong for Arnold as he is on a mad hunt for the most wanted action figure TurboMan, to him saving the day for his son Jamie as the literal super hero he wants a toy of is so good of a story it’s almost too good to be true. But that’s just Christmas magic right there. Also, the fight scene with all the Santa Clauses is top tier Christmas cinema.

MIRACLE ON 34th STREET

     I just saw this movie for the first time this year and it already is one of the best Christmas movies I’ve ever seen. As I continue to watch it more, it might actually crack the top 5. But I already reviewed this; HERE. And I meant what I said, you all should watch this movie every Christmas season.

EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS

     While it is not a Christmas movie, it is still one of the best holiday movies to watch. It is easily the best Hannukah movie (I say this because I don’t know any others.) It is very funny, and has that feel good story you need around the holidays. It makes me laugh hysterically thinking about how Adam Sandler also voices Whitey (the old man) alongside his character. Also, an all-time song in this movie, which is a staple you MUST HAVE to be a highly rated Christmas movie.

Did that guy wipe his ass with the wrong hand?

NATIONAL LAMPOONS CHRISTMAS VACATION

     Some people may be upset that I do not have this movie in the top 5, but this movie is not for everyone. You have to have a specific type of humor for this movie. I have this humor. I just watched this movie for the first time like two years ago and now I have to watch it every year. It is such an over-the-top ridiculous Christmas movie and it make me laugh nonstop every time I watch it. But again, it’s not for everyone, which is why it just misses the top 5.

FRED CLAUS

     I will never understand the hate for this movie (besides Kevin Spacey.) This is genuinely such a phenomenal Christmas movie. Paul Giamatti is Santa Clause. That’s incredible in itself right there. And then you have Vince Vaughn the naughty older brother of Santa, who is just always up to no good.

     But he comes around for the Children, and literally saves Christmas! That’s just beautiful. If this movie is not top 5 then it’s number 6, at the lowest 7! BECAUSE EVERY KID DESERVES A PRESENT ON CHRISTMAS!

     Alright, that settles all of our movies just not good enough to make the cut. Make no mistake though, these are phenomenal movies. I thoroughly enjoy all of them, and you all will too when you watch them. But, as I said before if you have any of these movies in your top 5, you’d be incorrect.
