I’ve had two full days to think about it, and my mind has not changed. The Giants owe all of their fans an apology, including ME personally.
Were tears running down my face Saturday night? No! But on the inside, I was throwing the world’s biggest 25-year-old temper tantrum! Did they over achieve this season? Yes. Are win year 1 of a rebuild and still were able to make the playoffs? Yes. But to go out like that, after overachieving all season just flat out hurts. It sucks the life out of you. It makes you feel like everything was for nothing. The Giants rolled over and showed their bellies on Saturday night and it was despicable. We as fans deserved a better effort all around. But that is not even what I want the apology for…
THE PUNT
OUTRAGEOUS! The MOST COWARDLY THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! How are you going to go for it on 4th and long in the first quarter down 1 touchdown (a terrible decision I might add. We did not convert and this gave Philly a short field and allowed them to go up 14-0 from their first two drives.) But when we are down three touchdowns, with time running out in the fourth, you punt away any hope of a fight or comeback. You punt away our season! I could not believe what I was seeing. How could Brian Daboll, the coach who went for 2 to win the game in game 1 of the season, become so cowardly when the lights shined brightest? It just does not make sense to me whatsoever, and we deserved better.
GOING OUT SAD
Everyone saying we should not be upset about Saturday’s result because we over achieved this season probably cried when they did not get a participation trophy for sucking at sports. Probably reminded the teacher about the homework due. It’s okay to be pissed off losing like that, and we should be. Our stars were nowhere to be found, and we got our asses kicked. Does it negate all the good we had this season? Absolutely not. But it better be bulletin board material for every single player walking into OTA’s come August.
