By now, you’re probably tired of listening to just one song on your Timeless Songs Playlist. I apologize for that, sometimes people get busy! Also let’s not forget, it’s a timeless song playlist. That means we have an infinite amount of time, to add songs to it (because the songs are timeless, get it?) But, that’s no excuse, after a week, it’s time for our playlist to double in size. We had one song, now we will have two.
Now, our second song is indeed timeless, it has been amazing for 45 years, and will be amazing for 45,000 more. However, even though this song is timeless, it has an aspect of time in its name. Hmm? Interesting, interesting. What song could I be talking about? CORRECTION! What timeless song could I be talking about? Think about it hard. Let your mind think of our musical history, connect with our past and present, connect with the time we’ve had on this earth. Let your thoughts think of the melody and let it flow around you through the wind. Let the melody and lyrics your thinking of bring a fire out inside of you that just makes you want to sing and dance along! (Did you get it yet?)
TIMELESS SONG NUMBER TWO: SEPTEMBER
BA NA NA NA NA NA! BA DA DAD DA DA DA! BA DAAAAAAAAAAAA! When you hear that beat your brain releases happiness. It’s a simple fact. Do you remember? How you could forget is what I say to that! Another song that is considered to be in the running for the greatest song of all time by the masses. Last Saturday 2/25/23 I was at the bar. Now was it the 21st night of September? Clearly not. Did this song come on? Yes, it did. Did I sing and dance along to it, just like everyone else in the bar? Clearly yes. You can’t be in a bad mood when this song comes on, you just can’t. The song is meant to put you in a great mood. And you’re straight up lying if you say you have not tried to hit the high note. We’ve all tried it!
THE SONG IS JUST SO COOL!
Everything about this song is cool. Everything. It genuinely might be the coolest song of all time. I’m serious! The intro beat, cool. The high notes that we all tried to sing too, cool. The music video, ridiculously cool. The band name “Earth Wind & Fire”, EXTREMELY COOL. And guess what? When you dance and sing along to September, you too are unbelievably cool. I’m 25 years old, and when I’m 100, this song will come on and I will get up out of my rocking chair with a big smile on my face and dance like I’m young again. You all will do the same thing as well. This song is just that good. This song is better than good, it is perfect.
September belongs on the Timeless Songs Playlist, because it is timeless. Some of you may have even argued that it should have been the first song on this playlist. To that I would say, finishing first or second is a construct of time, and you need not forget this playlist is timeless. (Thinking about it now while writing this, I should have put this song 21st, since it’s the 21st night of September. Hand up, that’s a huge miss by me.) Either way, I bet you remember what you were doing on the 21st night of September.
