Cut the Clocks!

     It has taken one (1) game out of a full 162 game season for the pitch clock/hit clock to be fucking dumber than we all thought it would be. Since Spring training I’ve seen the dumbest videos of hitters being called out because they did not step into the box quick enough. Pitchers getting violations and warnings for taking too long. All “to make the game of baseball better.” Nothing about it makes the game of baseball better. Any baseball fan can see that. But we have a dickweed for a commissioner running the league, trying to speed up the game in the complete wrong way. Oh, you like the pitch clock? Do me a favor, explain this to me;

HOW IS THIS A HITTER’S VIOLATION?

     Now, the Mets did win today, because they always win on opening day. (Statistically the best opening day team of all time.) But watching this live was absolutely infuriating. So, because Pete took his time getting back to first after a foul ball, the batter gets an additional strike? How fucking stupid is that?!?!? I cannot be the only person who feels that way.

     But this is supposed to be better for baseball, right? Wrong. The best part is immediately after giving McNeil the second strike and sending the count to 0-2, after a long pause the catcher called time to go over signs with the defense. What fucking sense does that make? How is that allowed after what just happened to McNeil? The answer is it doesn’t, and after one (1) game it’s time to cut our losses before it’s too late.

A MESSAGE TO YOU ROB MANFRED

     Cut your losses. Get rid of the pitch clock before it causes you more trouble. Let everyone solely remember you made the bases bigger and how awesome that was. We can come up with a better idea to make the pace of games a little quicker without having dumbass occurrences like the one that took place in the Mets. (Of course, it would happen in a Mets game by the way. Just the way things are.) If we get rid of the pitch clock now, nobody will even remember it. It will be an old wise tale we tell to children for years to come. Do what’s good for the game Robby, and cut the clocks!

P.S.

     Your team not 1-0 after opening day?!?!? As a fan that could never be me! Let’s Go Mets Baby!
